Creepy Graveyard Halloween Pasta Recipe

Who else has Halloween vibes right now? This is one of my family's favorite times of year and it's definitely a fun time to make Halloween recipes. This is why I had to create a kid-friendly creepy graveyard recipe complete with Jack-O-Lantern artisan tomatoes from Red Sun Farms, black bean pasta, mummy juice box, and more! Keep reading to find out how to make this for your family.

We try to always have a supply of Red Sun Farms bite sized tomatoes on hand because not only are they perfect for recipes, but they make a great snack that is actually good for you. It's so easy to just keep a container on the counter and quickly pop one in my mouth when I need a quick snack, but I also need to keep moving to get stuff done. Try them when you make this Halloween graveyard recipe, or in your next salad!

This easy pasta dish will wow your family and be a great alternative to all of the sugary candy that they might be consuming this month.

Ingredients: Red Sun Farms Artisan Series Chef's Collection Tomatoes, Red Sun Farms Mini Cucumber, black bean pasta, pesto sauce, black olives, nori (roasted seaweed), hot dog or sausage, black food coloring marker, juice box, white tape, googly eyes.

Directions:

1. Cook pasta and sauce as directed on packaging. 

2. While pasta and sauce are cooking, cut a very small slice of cucumber for a jack-o-lantern stem. Cut out a small piece of the top of tomato. Insert cucumber into tomato. Cut jack-o-lantern faces out of nori. You will need eyes, nose and mouth as shown. Stick onto tomatoes using a few drops of water.

3. The gravestones are made from the ends of hot dogs You can just write RIP on it using black food coloring. I used a food coloring marker. 

4. To make the tarantula, slice the spider legs out of black olives. You will need eight legs and two full black olives.

5. Plate the pasta with the pesto sauce on top for the grass. Arrange the pumpkins, gravestones, and tarantula as shown.

6. To make the mummy juice, wrap white tape around the juice box. Make sure to leave a spot for the straw to go in! Tape googly eyes to the front to finish it off.
