Star Wars Luke Skywalker Lunch

In my family Star Wars isn't just a movie series, it's a way of life. If you have read my blog for awhile, this will not come as a surprise. It's pretty much been a constant theme around here since I began making fun lunches four years ago. The odd thing is that I just recently realized that I had never made a Luke Skywalker lunch. I have made Princess Leia, Chewbacca, R2D2, BB-8, and even a Kylo Ren lunch. But never Luke. It appears as if I have neglected the character who brought hope to the galaxy.

Well, this week the neglect ends. There many types of Luke to choose from, but I decided on the X-Wing Pilot Luke. There is no deep reason behind it except that I had all the ingredients on hand to create it with! I made this lunch in an Easy Lunch Boxes container.

Ingredients: Whole wheat sandwich thins (circle shaped), provolone cheese slice, cheddar cheese slice, sliced meat, Babybel cheese, raisins, cream cheese, spinach (yes my daughter eats it), blackberries, yogurt covered raisins, Star Wars plastic decoration, granola, two pretzel sticks, Wilton's Shape N Amaze Edible Decorating Dough.

Directions:
1. Place sliced meat between two slices of sandwich thins. Cut face piece out of provolone cheese to make helmet. Use cheese scrap to make shirt and helmet pieces. Take red wax off of Babybel cheese. Eat Babybel cheese round. Cut red wax into shapes on helmet. Use cream cheese and toothpick to attach helmet pieces, red wax, and raisins to helmet. Place helmet on top of bread.

2. Cut small triangle piece off of bread to make nose. Attach facial features to sandwich using cream cheese and toothpick. Drop spinach leaves into main compartment of lunchbox and put sandwich on top.

3. Cut cheddar cheese into the shape of the jumpsuit. Insert neck into sandwich. Put white flight shirt/bib on top of cheddar cheese jumpsuit.

4. Drop blackberries and yogurt covered raisins into side compartment and top with plastic Star Wars decoration.

5. Place granola in second side compartment. Cover most of pretzel stick with red Shape N Amaze and place on top of the granola. Repeat with blue Shape N Amaze.
